We often say that any place you feel called to start is the right starting point—this is no different. What we LOVE about Functional Nutritional Therapy is that whatever you learn here may also help you decide which other VIVA Wellness services will support your organs and systems. That said, because the body is a holistic mechanism, meaning no part is separate, if you feel called to start at any point, chances are you will also be supporting other parts of your health.
I'm sure you've heard by now that it can take 60-90 days to break a habit, so we want you to keep in mind that what you’re experiencing and how you feel did not just happen overnight. Change requires consistency. This program is ideal for those ready to learn, grow, and commit the time and energy to support their body holistically using food, lifestyle strategies, and supplement protocols designed just for them.
Per the Nutritional Therapy Association, an “FNTP has received a minimum of 325 curricular hours, a minimum of 65 hours of in-person, hands-on training, coupled with a minimum of 6 hours of testing (midterm and final written and practical examinations).” Our FNTP is also a Registered Nurse, which we feel bring a whole host of added experience and training with the body to be able to offer an incredibly robust, thorough, and compassionate healing experience.
While similar in that these are both “evidence-based” and functional in nature, Functional Nutritional Therapy is rooted in real time biofeedback and Functional Medicine Services are based on labs and testing.
Functional means root cause, meaning that both of these services are designed to get to the true reason for what you’re experiencing with the intention to resolve it. They just use different ways of reading the symptoms and addressing the root concern.
