Allergy Relief vs. Symptom Management
If you have allergies or chronic sinus congestion, we know how frustrating it can be to go about your day-to-day life when you are having an attack. After working with so many of you who have been disappointed with more traditional options, we’re pleased to share that we have some suggestions rooted in helping your body find relief vs. just symptom management alone. VIVA Wellness has you covered!
Before you can achieve real relief, you have to look at why you’re experiencing the allergic reaction, which includes understanding the first line of defense against them.
Your lymphatic system plays a major role in keeping your sinuses clear and draining—in fact, the lymphatic system is the body’s main drainage pathway and part of the immune system. A healthy and flowing lymphatic system can increase how well your immune system works, keeping you healthy! That healthier immune response means more easily responding to new threats that may enter the system AND more efficiently clearing what’s already present in terms of both allergies and other causes of congestion.
When the lymphatic system is clogged or congested, like with chronic allergies or sinus congestion, pressure builds, and the symptoms of congestion can worsen. In general, the lymphatic system is less able to make progress against new or existing challenges—which means momentum may be building in the opposite direction of where you’re trying to go with your healing.
The VIVA Wellness Starter Sinus Protocol
- 2-3 sessions of manual lymphatic drainage concentrating on the face in a week period. You may also do full body manual or vacuum RF lymphatic drainage treatment, as moving the entire system will provide support for the lymphatic system.
- Consider a supplement that can promote natural decongestion, like D-hist (available in the clinic). This is a POWERFUL yet gentle tool.
- Consider our Wellness IV or CoQ10 and Glutathione IM Injections (discuss with our team, per your situation).
Anti-Histamine Foods
Other tips: reduce consumption of high histamine foods. Yes, even foods may be hindering your immune response. Eat more anti-histamine foods, such as broccoli, onions, apples, pineapple, parsley, blueberries (especially wild blueberries or wild blueberry juice), and olive oil.
After your first few treatments and progress with supplements and other therapies, your therapist will evaluate your progress. Generally, this visit frequency is enough to get sinus drainage pathways moving again.
From there, we recommend once-a-month facial manual lymphatic drainage, along with D-hist, and other self-care measures to keep you feeling your best: walking, sweating, dry brushing, and proper hydration.
